Working hand in hand with communities and international partners, Pact has improved peace, stability and access to justice in Somalia. Read more below.

Pact's work in Somalia has fostered justice as well as peace and reconciliation among historically divided groups, improving people's security and quality of life both within the country and in neighboring nations.

In partnership with USAID and the European Union Trust Fund for Africa, Pact used systemic solutions to address root causes of cross-border conflict. We worked directly with local communities to strengthen conflict-management systems and built the capacity of regional and national institutions to stem conflict. Our programming engaged local government agencies, women, religious leaders, security forces and people vulnerable to engaging in conflict and violence.

In Somalia and the autonomous region of Somaliland, we have improved access to justice by increasing the quality, reach and availability of vital legal aid services.
