Girls Empowerment and Management (GEM) ProjectName: Girls Empowerment and Management (GEM) Project The Girls Empowerment and Management Project seeks to create an enabling environment for girls to succeed in school and to make positive decisions about their education, health and careers. The project provides scholarships to 500 girls in three remote regions of Ethiopia. Academic support and tutorials enable the girls to be successful in their studies. In addition, these young scholarship students receive training in life skills, leadership and reproductive health. The project works intimately with girls' clubs and HIV/AIDS clubs and links the students to female university students and successful women, who mentor the girls in leadership development skills and the importance of reproductive health, water and sanitation and nutrition. GEM operates in Amhara, Gambella and SNNPR. ResourcesBrochure - Girls Empowerment and Management (GEM) Project Staff contacts
