Advocacy Capacity Building

Name: Advocacy Capacity Building
Donor(s): DanChurchAid
Duration: July 2006 – June 2008

DanChurchAid has contracted with Pact to strengthen the capacity of its partners and program staff to plan and implement advocacy activities and campaigns that benefits the lives of poor and marginalised population groups. Using Pact’s successful Expert Advocacy Training Series as a foundation, specific training programs have been designed for DanChurchAid partners and staff in Uganda, Ethiopia, and Palestine. DanChurchAid believes that advocacy is an important tool for achieving sustainable improvement in the lives of poor and marginalized groups.  In addition, DanChurchAid has committed to strategically institutionalizing and strengthening of its own advocacy efforts to increase the impact of its programming.

Though this program, DanChurchAid staff and partners receive capacity building training in advocacy campaign management, building relationships with government, working with the media and building and maintaining coalitions. Pact and DanChurchAid are committed to improving the advocacy skills of these local partners and staff to increase their ability to positively impact policy changes.
